NEW INITIATIVE – ESTABLISHMENT OF RAK ACADEMY EDUCATION OFFICE

Dear Parents,
I am delighted to announce an important new development at RAK Academy. From the start of next academic year, we are establishing a centralised ‘Education Office’. The core functions of this office will be to work closely with each Head of School across the Academy to raise standards and improve outcomes for our students in all aspects of their learning.
To ensure this has maximum impact, the Education Office will be led and driven by two highly qualified, experienced and talented educational leaders who will work closely with me as Executive Principal to raise expectations, to drive up aspirational achievement and to support our schools to provide the very best education for our students at all levels.
I congratulate Mr. Philip Lee on his appointment as RAK Academy’s ‘Head of Education.’ His areas of responsibility will include; supporting improvement and excellence in teaching and learning at all levels, ensuring quality assurance systems in all schools are rigorously applied to raise standards, and implementing transformative curriculum change to ensure RAK Academy produces academically strong and emotionally rich, lifelong learners. Phil will also work closely with external accreditation and inspection agencies to ensure that the raising of standards at RAK Academy is properly measured, recognised, and shared with all stakeholders.
The appointment of Mr. Sean Curran to the role of ‘Head of Inclusion" is an essential step forward for our family of schools as we embrace all elements of inclusion as a modern and high-performing organisation. Sean will be supporting schools to implement truly inclusive educational practices based on modern approaches and centered on meeting the needs of all of our learners, including challenges for our gifted and talented students. His remit also includes the development of EAL strategies across all schools. He will have oversight of well-being and pastoral-support practices to ensure our students are fully developed to reach their potential.
Please find further information about each colleague below.
With regards,
Graham Beale
Executive Principal
