as an Additional Language
English is the main medium of communication and learning at RAK Academy. The aim of all teachers is to enable all students who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) to acquire the language skills required to access the curriculum and achieve academic success in relation to their potential.
All RAK Academy Primary Schools implement a bi-lingual (English and Arabic) approach in the Early Years where immersive language experiences build a strong basis for early and ssuccessful acquisition of language skills. All RAK Academy primary teachers are skilled in vocabulary enrichment programmes, specific grammatical, phonetic, and functional language consolidation based on the Bell Foundation English Proficiency scale. We ensure that having English as a second language does not impact our pupils’ educational experiences and success.
